March 31, 2014

Today we would like to Welcome two interns that have joined our team in Sierra Leone! Allieu and Gladys welcome to the GESSL family!

“I am excited and glad to be involved with GESSL as an intern because I enjoy working in an environment that will allow me to experience new things and be exposed to both new people and new skills. I am hoping that through my work with GESSL, I will develop my skills and get the opportunity to meet dynamic individuals who can teach me a lot”.

Hobbies: Allieu’s love is listening to music and playing video games. Music is always his companion- he especially likes to listen to Hip Hop, R&B and Sentimental music.

Gladys is proud to join an organization like GESSL team where she can work to empower girls like herself to achieve their dreams and become women of high calibre in society. She is passionate about this work because she wants women to have a united voice which will allow them to feel that they can be involved in decision making.

Hobbies; Reading books about inspirational people and her role model is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Introducing Maryam, Our GESSL In-Country Coordinator!

March 28, 2014

Our Family is Growing and we are excited and grateful! Today we will like to say a big Welcome to our new GESSL Country Coordinator Maryam Darwich!

“It is not only a pleasure but a privilege to have been approached by the GESSL to be their country co-ordinator. Having experienced first hand the summit and worked with both the mentors and the girls, I came to see just how needed the work of GESSL is. It is my passion to help young girls see their potential, realize it and work towards making a difference with that- it is for this reason that I wish to grow with GESSL and see young Sierra Leonean girls do just that”
